Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in the United States and is an American photographer and journalist. For more than forty-five years, she's focused her efforts on the reporting of the suffering of people, particularly in natural disasters and wars. Curry has been a reporter in war-zones such as Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry was an American journalist, news reporter on TV as well as host. She is most known as a correspondent for the Today program which is a morning-time broadcast newscast on NBC. Curry was known for her reporting on humanitarian crises in war-torn countries as well as on natural catastrophes. Curry's mother was Japanese American and her U.S. Navy-sailor father were both prominent figures in her life. Her father was with the mother of her in Japan while he was stationed in Japan following World War II. As a result of the military service of her father, the family has moved around quite a lot. Ashland was where she eventually finished the high school. In Medford the following year, she began her broadcasting career with KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. When she was 22 she was the first reporter to be female at KTVL. Later, she moved into the role of anchor and reporter at KGW which was an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. After four years, she was hired as an anchor by KCBS TV in Los Angeles. In the course of her six-year relationship with KCBS She was honored with two Emmy Awards.
